In third grade, Carrington was asked to bring a donation to school for a charitable cause and she brought her entire piggy bank.  Her mother protested, “You don’t have to give it all away!”  That was the moment that she informed her mother that one day she was going to have her own foundation.  She can’t recall  how she even knew what a foundation was at that age, but she was confident in her pronouncement.

She never knew how or in what form the foundation would happen.  As she volunteered and fundraised over the years, she cemented her belief in the importance of giving a “hand-up” and not just a “hand-out.”  She came to recognize the importance of supporting people in achieving their goals and increasing their self-esteem in the process.

As a single mom with no family support, she realized how powerful that support is, how rarely single moms are recognized, and how a day off for the mom can be a gift to the whole family.

Establishing this foundation is the realization of her life-long dream, and she is excited to see how this foundation can positively impact the lives of others. She is thrilled to have the support of her friends in launching it.
